Dear Friends,
The Pregnancy Care Center is excited to announce the release of a groundbreaking report, A Passion to Serve, A Vision for Life, which shares the tremendous contributions of pregnancy resource centers since the inception of the movement over forty years ago.
We’d like to tell you a little about the report and invite you to come visit our community’s local center, Pregnancy Care Center of TiftArea!
As explained in the report, A Passion to Serve, A Vision for Life, our nation’s pregnancy centers:
- Improve women’s, adolescent, maternal and child health and well-being
- Save taxpayer dollars through support from private, charitable sources
- Are deeply rooted in communities as a result of widespread volunteerism
- Provide a web of support for pregnant women, men, and families by referrals to a host of partnering agencies
The report was a year-long, joint effort by Family Research Council and our national affiliation organization, Care Net, along with other national pregnancy center organizations.
While you may already be familiar with the work of the Pregnancy Care Center, you may not necessarily be aware of how our work is a part of a larger national movement.
Care Net President Melinda Delahoyde said, “Pregnancy centers have grown tremendously over the past four decades to become one of the most critical and reliable non-profit organizations in communities across America. More than 2,300 pregnancy centers across America offer compassionate care to more than 1.9 million people annually. If there was ever a question whether support for pregnant women and families existed – particularly in this challenging economy – one has only to read this report and cheer on the work of this amazing, volunteer-led network.”
We would love for you to visit our center and learn more about our work at a time convenient to you. Please feel free to call me to set up a visit: 382-4491.
Thank you for all you do in our community. Please don’t hesitate to call if ever we can be of service to you.
Sincerely,
Darlene Barber
Executive Director
